Terms of Use
Last updated: September 09, 2026
By using Build Tally (“the Service”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Build Tally provides free, browser-based calculators that estimate material quantities for construction and home improvement work. Every calculation happens on your device; we do not receive your inputs.
2. Estimates only — not professional advice
The Service produces material quantity estimates for planning and purchasing. It does not provide engineering, architectural, surveying or building-code advice, and it does not determine whether a design is safe or compliant. Structural matters — including but not limited to joist and beam spans, footing sizes and depths, reinforcement, retaining wall design, ledger attachment, stair geometry and load capacity — must be determined by your local building code or a qualified professional. Many of the projects these calculators relate to require a permit and inspection. You are responsible for verifying quantities and requirements before ordering material or beginning work.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service unlawfully, or to attempt to disrupt, overload or maliciously reverse-engineer it.
4. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that any calculator will be error-free, that a result will suit your particular project, or that the Service will be available at all times.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Build Tally and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including material over-ordering or shortfall, project delay, or loss arising from reliance on any figure produced by the Service.
6. Intellectual property
The Service's design, text and code are the property of Build Tally or its licensors.
7. Advertising
The Service displays third-party advertising. We are not responsible for the content of advertisements or the sites they link to.
8. Changes and termination
We may modify or discontinue any calculator at any time. We may update these terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
